Jennifer Wilson and Guy Gadney
Directors, The Project Factory

The Project Factory is a digital production company, specialising in transmedia, an emerging method of interactive story-telling often involving mobile games. Transmedia productions allow several revenue streams, ranging from traditional advertising and sponsorship to direct-from-consumer transactions. Jennifer is a Council Member of the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) and Guy is a Board Member of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA).

What we’re starting to see is that rather than
just one single revenue stream from a television
show – usually advertising or sponsorship – what
happens in the digital environment is we identify
about seven or eight different revenue streams.
Guy Gadney

There’s an argument that says while 20 of the top
watched programs are Australian there doesn’t need
to be a quota or criteria, but I think what that
says is, there wouldn’t be 20 if there wasn’t the
criteria. I believe we need to protect Australian
content by requiring Australian content to be made.
